Established in 2017, Development Matters Consultancy Limited (DMCL) is a dynamic and progressive non-governmental organisation, business incubation and acceleration Centre and an agribusiness limited liability company in Ghana, based in Sunyani with satellite offices in Kumasi, Accra and Asamankese. The hub is passionate about creating physical and virtual platforms that train and support the youth, women, entrepreneurs, SMEs and the community to develop sustainable business ventures. We   focus on providing tailored training and support to promising start-ups and businesses of all kinds.

We provide incubation and acceleration training, enterprise/ business development support, fund raising, and management support, dedicated marketing and marketing assistance. All participants who complete our training automatically qualifies to be a member of our established network of savings group where that further benefit from many support services and financial assistance

DMCL is a collaborative and entrepreneurial facility that support the development of ideas from basic concepts, into viable business ventures.

It is specifically designed to foster entrepreneurship and small business development during the critical start-up phase. DMCL HUB is a strategic business of the Development Matters Consultancy Limited. When young people enter the world of business, we create an enabling environment for them to flourish through helping them to refine their ideas, establishing their companies, and overcome barriers to growth. Our acceleration training package and enterprise development support ensure that the scale up journey of entrepreneurs is smooth.

Amoah Kwaku Karikari

Team Leader
Qualifications: M. Phil, in Development Studies (University of Cape Coast) and a Bachelor of Arts (Hon) Degree in Political Science (University of Ghana, Legon).

Relevant Experience: A Development Specialist with over 15 years in experience in project management, monitoring, coordination and capacity building. He has tremendous experience in engagement in the areas of education, economic development, community mobilisation, decentralisation, health, water and sanitation. He has immense technical ability in participatory rural appraisal/ participatory learning and action, coordination of field activities and training programmes, designing and facilitating training models. He has a remarkable experience in research (both quantitative and qualitative), financial management, communication, and reporting.
Mr. Benjamin Kwadwo Appiah

Mr. Benjamin Kwadwo Appiah

Training Officer, Enterprise Development and Sustainability
Qualifications: MSc. NGO Studies and Management, Bachelor of Management Studies and Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation.

Relevant Experience: is a Ghanaian with experience in Community Development and expertise in Community Mobilisation, Facilitation, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning. He holds a bachelor’s degree in management studies and MSc. (NGO Studies and Management) from the University of Cape Coast. He also holds 4 certificates in Monitoring and Evaluation (from GIMPA, AACE Evaluation Training Institute and Global Health eLearning Center). He has considerable experience working International Organisations like World University Service of Canada (WUSC), SABRE Charitable Trust (A UK funded Charity), and Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA).

Qualifications: Master of Commerce (Entrepreneurship and Small Enterprise Development) and Bachelor of Science in Resource Enterprise and Entrepreneurship

Relevant Experience: Amoah has been at the center of many business incubation assignments in Ghana and has a long-term experience working at the Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Incubation at the University of Energy and Natural Resources.

Relevant Experience: Eugene has over 5 years experience working as a Senior Research Administrative Assistant at the University of Energy and Natural Resources.

Qualifications: Masters in Community Development, Master’s in Public Administration, BSc. Administration, and Dip. Journalism.

Relevant Experience: Over 12 years continuous experience in community mobilization and facilitation; stakeholder engagement; capacity building and training; workshops facilitation; Planning, coordinating and implementation of special projects. Communication strategies; records and documentation management; and Monitoring and Evaluation. Currently, working as a full time Consultant on various projects including the Okyenhene’s 20th Anniversary among others. Have also worked with Mondelez International Cocoa Life, Korea Saemaul Undong Center, USAID, Public Service Commission, and Tree Global International among others.

Qualifications: International Masters Programme for Managers (IMPM), Professional Development Cert. (Project Management option), Cert. in NGO Management, M.A. Development Studies, B. ED (Hons) Social Studies, Diploma in Geography.

Relevant Experience: Abena A. Amoah is a gender and development management expert with over 15 years practical experience working at different levels in the International and Community development, Youth development, employment and training, Education and the NGO sectors. She has many years of experience developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating programs related to Ghana’s development agendas including 10 years of managing development projects in Health, Gender, Education, Economic development, international volunteers’ programs and partners. Abena has led a number of teams whilst supporting others to develop, design, research, implement programs and conduct evaluation into projects that has achieved results whilst adhering to the highest project development and implementation standards and protocols. She is also an organisational development expert with proven track record of supporting organisations to inculcate good practices that has seen to the growth and sustainability of these organisations; and have skills in partnership development, networking and representation at different levels (from local through to National and to international) carefully articulating the ideals and views of the various organisations that I represent to position them for possible partnerships and funding opportunities. As a team player, Abena has good interpersonal and managerial skills, self‐motivated and well organized with excellent intercultural communication, verbal and presentation skills.
